A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art.

About This Quote

The relationship between emotion and art is a complex one. In order for something to qualify as art, it must be a work of a quality that cannot be found in a non-art piece. It must follow a certain chronological timeline in that the piece was created with an underlying emotion in mind, and then the emotion has to have translated into something that others can appreciate. This is important because without an emotional base, the work of art loses its ability to convey an underlying message or meaning. Therefore, if something is not based on emotions, it cannot be considered art.
